Graduated from Government Medical College, Surat, Gujarat&did Post graduation in general surgery. Trained in surgical gastroenterology from Govt Peripheral Hospital, Chennai and trained in laparoscopy from various places in Chennai and abroad. Dynamic laparoscopic surgeon and my specialization includes all type of Bariatric and Metabolic surgeries including revision Bariatric Surgeries and all laparoscopic gastro & hernia surgeries. Trained in revision Bariatric surgery and endoscopic techniques from Cleveland, Ohio USA and trained in Metabolic surgeries in Taiwan.
I’m the youngest lady surgeon to have won the “Gem Award” and “Sundaram Award” from the Association of Surgeons of India & the only female Bariatric and metabolic surgeon in Tamil Nadu.
Has published several books in medical field like laparoscopic hernia surgery done by Jaypee publications.Recently published a book worldwide called Transformation to a healthier you, a book on Obesity Management for General Public. Has received an award of excellence from ASI recently for giving Oration lecture @ Vishakhapatnam.
Founder & Managing Director of the Minimal Invasive Surgery Training Institute (MISTI) which trains surgeons in both basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures. This was initiated 7 years back and has trained more than 500 surgeons.
ICHGCP trained and has been conducting several clinical trials over the last several years. Has been the organizing Secretary of the various National Workshops over last few years. International Teaching Faculty for Bariatric Surgery at Hemas Hospitals, Colombo, Sri Lanka for last 2 years.
